Small Farms & Alternative Enterprises

Our program focuses on the challenges and opportunities facing Hillsborough County small farms, and aims to provide education and support to aspiring, beginning, and experienced small farmers and livestock producers. Our agents provide science-based information, hands-on activities, and educational assistance to develop the skills and competencies needed to thrive in the agricultural industry. Serving both part-time and full-time farmers, our program consists of a wide range of activities that benefit small and backyard farms, such as field trips, demonstrations, workshops, and seminars.
