The UF/IFAS Franklin County team strives to make knowledge accessible to enhance the quality of human life with researched based solutions. Erik, the County Extension Director, can be found around town helping with soil samples, inspecting lawns & pests, studying tree diseases, and educating the public about our natural habitats at local events. Michelle manages program areas including: beekeeping, 4-H, lawn and garden, mushrooms, Sea Turtle friendly lights, shellfish harvesting and soil samples. Kayle teaches youth in local schools about the importance of nutrition.

Erik Lovestrand - County Extension Director /Regional Specialized SeaGrant Agent
The FC Extension Director / Regional Specialized Sea Grant Agent coordinates broad-based extension efforts in Franklin County and works across a 3-county region in the areas of seafood safety and marketing, coastal issues, and related topics to provide benefits to shellfish harvesters, seafood processors and others engaged in the commercial seafood industry to help create a thriving, sustainable seafood industry.

Michelle Huber - Franklin County Extension Office Manager / Program Assistant
Office Management, Program Accounting, assists Director Lovestrand with all aspects of Franklin County Extension programs.

Kayle Mears - Family Nutrition Program Assistant
Implements the USDA funded Family Nutrition Program for Franklin County's youth and adults.
