Dr. Sharon Cilano
County Extension Director
Dr. Sharon Cilano joins UF/IFAS Extension after years as an educator, both formal and informal, and working with regulatory agencies in multiple Gulf states. She grew up in Louisiana and has experience with the seafood industry and aquaculture industry. Her doctoral studies focused on seafood literacy in coastal Florida areas, understanding how the communities utilize their resources to maintain their cultural heritage. Sharon coordinates broad-based extension efforts in Franklin County. Her major program focus is on shellfish, aquaculture, and seafood literacy; producing content in workforce development, sustainable seafood and environmental education.
