Blueberries are another popular fruit in Putnam County. Whether you want to start a u‑pick farm, add edible plants to your yard, or need help with the bushes you already have, we can assist you. Blueberries have become more popular because of their health benefits and their value to wildlife. They grow well in acidic, well‑drained soils and can be easily added to a home landscape. Our area is a good fit for rabbiteye and southern highbush varieties. Plant at least two varieties to improve cross‑pollination. In Putnam County, blueberries are usually ready to harvest starting in April. Local growers often open their fields for u‑pick during the season.
