GREENHOUSE EFFECT
Some greenhouse gases are present naturally like water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide, but other greenhouse gases are byproducts of human industries. Over the past 150 years, humans have caused a significant increase in the concentration of both those greenhouse gases occurring naturally and those made by humans in the atmosphere. Due to these increases, scientists have already recorded changes in the environment, and these increases are projected to continue warming our planet to unprecedented levels.
Climate change refers to the range of changes that will occur both locally and globally as a result of this ‘global warming.’ These changes may include changes in rainfall patterns, melting of glaciers and consequently sea level rise, and as stated before, an increase in temperature.
