Food, Nutrition and Health

The UF/IFAS Extension Bay County office offers food, nutrition, and health programs that help individuals, families, and communities make informed choices about eating habits and lifestyles that support physical health, financial stability, and overall well-being.

Our programs use principles from the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans for both youth and adults. We place special emphasis on elder nutrition to address their unique needs while teaching participants about health risks such as obesity and high blood pressure.

These programs encourage people to make smart nutrition and lifestyle changes that reduce health risks and improve long-term quality of life.

 Programs available:

  • Keeping the Pressure Down (Hypertension)
  • Cooking with Herbs
  • Cholesterol Control
  • Obesity & Weight Management
  • Meal Planning & Shopping
  • Feeding Young Children
  • Elder Nutrition
