Who We Are

Our mission is to respond to Lee County issues and needs through customized education and training in agriculture & natural resources, horticulture, 4-H youth development, marine education, Florida yards and neighborhoods, and family and consumer sciences.

Your Lee County Extension agents offer educational services through a three-way cooperative arrangement between the Board of County Commissioners, the University of Florida, and the United States Department of Agriculture.  Your local extension agents are off-campus faculty members of the University of Florida. They are trained professionals who are here to serve you.

The mission of the University of Florida/IFAS (Institute of Food and Agriculture Sciences) is to develop knowledge through research in human and natural resources, agriculture, and the life sciences, and to make that knowledge accessible to the public to sustain and enhance the quality of life in Florida.
