Who We Are

The Smith‑Lever Act of 1914 was a law that created a partnership between experts at land grant universities (like the University of Florida) and communities to help people learn. This partnership is called the Cooperative Extension Service. The main goal was to share new ideas and information. Today, our county Extension agents work with local county government to provide trustworthy and easy‑to‑understand information to help improve the lives of people in our communities. Palm Beach County Extension turns research into classes, trainings, community programs, and volunteer opportunities in six main areas: 4‑H youth development; agriculture and horticulture; home gardening and landscaping; family life skills; healthy living; and caring for the environment.
