4-H Workshops and Spring Break Camp

Leon County 4-H offers youth the opportunity to participate in educational workshops that aim to promote learning through exploration and research. Youth will be able to explore career opportunities, lead community service activities, and have fun meeting other young people while developing critical life skills.

2023-2024 Workshops

  • Watershed Wonders Spring Break Camp

    Event Description: Discover the wonders of our local watershed at our exciting two-day spring break camp! During this camp, youth will learn about the significance of the St. Marks Watershed, exploring its vital role in our environment and the current challenges it faces. Youth will learn how we, as responsible citizens, can contribute to protecting this essential natural resource, all while enjoying an immersive, hands-on experience in the great outdoors that includes kayaking and hiking.

    This workshop offers an ideal blend of fun, learning, and environmental stewardship, inspiring our youth to become stewards of one of Florida's most valuable natural resources.

  • Youth Artists' Studio

    Description

    This workshop series is a unique platform for young artists to dive deeper into the world of visual arts. Young artists will have the exciting opportunity to collaborate on creative projects, enhancing their skills while exploring different styles and mediums.

4-H County and State Events

As a Leon County 4-H member, you child will be eligible to participate in county and state 4-H Events. The aim for these events is to help develop leadership and communication skills in youth in a safe and fun environment. If you are interested in having your child join 4-H, please contact us leon4h@ifas.ufl.edu or (850) 606-5204.

  • County Showcase

    Event Description: 4-H County Showcase is an opportunity for 4-H youth to demonstrate the skills and knowledge they have mastered as part of their 4-H experience. Youth can share what they have learned through several contests, from public speaking, to demonstrations, visual arts, and theater arts. While fairs offer experiences to exhibit what a young person has grown or created, 4-H County Events is an opportunity for youth to demonstrate what they have learned and accomplished because of their project work.

  • District Showcase

    Description: Based on the scores given at the Leon County Showcase, youth may have the ability to participate in the district-level competition. Results from this event will determine eligibility to the state-level competition held in Gainesville, Florida every year.
