Chester Ochs 4-H Educational Center

Our Vision

To be the premier urban agriculture education center in the Tampa Bay region.

Our Mission

The Chester Ochs Garden provides fun, innovative urban agriculture education to Tampa Bay residents of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures. We foster a community built on teamwork, trust, and integrity through our partnership between UF/IFAS Pinellas County 4-H Youth Development Program and UF/IFAS Pinellas County Master Gardener Program.

About Our Center

Located at 14644 113th Ave N, Largo, FL 33774, the Chester Ochs 4-H Educational Center has been serving Pinellas County since 1991. Originally the residence and citrus grove of Chester Ochs, this historic property was donated to become a county park and educational center.

Today, our center features:

  • Educational demonstration gardens
  • Youth gardening opportunities
  • Community garden plots
  • Meeting spaces for 4-H clubs
  • Special events

For nearly three decades, we've provided thousands of youth and volunteers with hands-on experiences in agriculture, sustainability, and outdoor skills—honoring our agricultural heritage while preparing future generations for success.
