Arboretum - Field with Various Trees

Plan Your Visit

From beautiful flowers and fruit to colorful fall leaves and decorative bark, the garden is an interesting place no matter the season.  Early spring is a great time to view seasonal wildflowers.  Wildlife sightings are common year-round.

Hours

Monday - Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

Cost

The gardens are free and open to the public.  Special events and classes may require an entrance fee.

Trail Conditions

A concrete walkway was installed in the arboretum to create a sturdy path for walkers, joggers, and people in wheelchairs. From the garden entrance, the walkway guides visitors past the pollinator garden and fruit orchard, and meanders through the northwest corner of the arboretum where it “ends” in a loop around a tree. The total approximate length of the walkway is 0.12 miles. The remaining areas of the arboretum include grassy, unpaved trails. Most unpaved garden areas are easy walking, but some sections may have uneven footing. Construction of a large, covered teaching pavilion and the completion of the concrete walkway through the entire garden, are planned for 2021-2022.

Individual and Group Tours

Visitors are welcome to take a leisurely stroll through the gardens.  Download our garden guides and tree identification activity or ask for one when you arrive.

For group tours, a tour guide may be requested in advance to teach you about the different plant species, tree identification techniques, and Florida-Friendly Landscaping principles.  To arrange a group tour, please call (904) 259-3520.
