Come discover the skill of preserving your own foods in this pressure canning class designed for 14- to 18-year-olds. Youth will learn the basics of pressure cooking. We’ll start with an appetizer and work our way to dessert.

Due to the nature of the class, class size is limited to 16 youth. Hair must be pulled back, or in a cap, and closed-toed shoes are required. Materials are provided in class. Must pay in advance before registration ends on July 12 at 5 pm. Cash or check is also accepted. Youth must be 14 to 18 years old as of September 1, 2023, to participate.

Adulting Camp Short Course

July 22 - 26 from 9 AM - 1 PM

3695 Lake Drive, Cocoa, FL 32926

Navigating the road from youth into adulthood is tricky. How do you decide what you want to do? How do you live with strangers and get along? How do you manage your money? The questions are many. To help you be prepared, join us for a five-day short course into adulthood.

Learn about college and career prep, budgeting, credit and banking, developing healthy relationships, effective communication, and living with others. We'll put it all together in a fun simulation of a month in the life of a 25-year-old. Participants will leave camp with an increased knowledge of what it’s like to be an adult and a few goodies to help.

Come join us at the UF/IFAS Extension Brevard County Office as we learn that nobody ever stops learning how to ‘adult’!

Open to youth ages 15-18. Camp runs daily July 22 - 26, from 9 AM - 1 PM. Registration is for all 5 days. Light snacks will be provided. Scholarships are available, please contact us at brevard@ifas.ufl.edu for more information.
