Brevard Discovery Garden
The Brevard Discovery Garden Demonstration Garden (BDG Demonstration Garden) has several different garden areas designed to show local residents how to incorporate native, Florida friendly, herbs and vegetables plants in their landscape using recommended Central Florida horticultural practices. The current garden areas are as follows: Pollinator Garden, Herb Garden, Raised Vegetable Garden, Rain/Swale Garden, Orchard, FL Native Garden, Coastal Garden, Food Forest and Royal Poinciana Shade Garden.
Garden Discovery Days
The BDG Demonstration Gardens are open to the public for self-guided tours every Wednesday from 9am-11am. Volunteers will be actively working in the garden on Discovery Days and will be available to answer your gardening questions.
Brevard Discovery Garden Nursery
The Brevard Discovery Garden Nursery (BDG Nursery) is operated by a team of Master Gardener Volunteers who propagate native plants, Florida friendly plants, herbs and vegetables from seeds, cuttings and plant division. The nursery manages an impressive collection of Louisiana Iris plants which will deliver a splash of color in wet, boggy areas of the landscape. The nursery also has a diverse group of succulents planted in decorative containers for that perfect gift or patio plant.
Most of the nursery plants are marketed at our semi-annual fundraisers in the Spring and Fall when our inventory is at its peak. Follow us on Facebook to see when the next one is! The BDG Nursery is open to the public from 9am to Noon on Wednesdays and Fridays except for holidays. The money raised from fundraiser events is used to cover the nursery's operating expenses and infrastructure improvements. All donations are cash or check only. Call ahead before making the trip! 321-633-1702
