4-H District Info

Escambia County is part of 4-H District 1 and the Northwest Extension Administrative District.

Area North Horse Show

Each year 4-H clubs across the state hold countless local and county horse shows. Moving up through the levels of 4-H Horse Shows is a very competitive process and requires good sportsmanship and a thorough knowledge of all the rules by everyone involved.

District Events

4-H District Events are annual competitions in the areas of public speaking, demonstrations/illustrated talks, Share the Fun (talent), photography, and graphic design for 4-H District 1. Blue ribbon winners have the opportunity to attend state 4-H Events at 4-H University.

Northwest District 4-H Tailgating Contest

Florida 4-H is excited to announce the Florida 4-H Tailgating Contest sponsored by Publix and Sonny’s BBQ. The purpose of this contest is to promote the use of animal protein in the diet by teaching the art and science of safely preparing beef, pork, poultry, and seafood in an outdoor setting. Investment in this activity will provide 4-H youth with life skills, including decision making, healthy lifestyle choices, and communication.

The Northwest District Tailgating Contest will be held in Chipley on July 22, 2023. The State 4-H Tailgating Contest will be held in Gainesville on September 23, 2023.
