Agriculture

Many people think Escambia is mostly an urban county, but it actually has more than 30,000 acres used for farming. Farmers grow cotton and peanuts, and they also grow soybeans, corn, and other small grains. Thousands of acres are used to grow grass and hay for livestock. Large areas of rural Escambia County are covered with forests, which are owned by both private landowners and the public. UF/IFAS Extension helps landowners learn how to better use and care for their land. If you have questions, we are here to help.
