Gulf County 4-H

Gulf County 4-H is where fun, learning, and hands-on adventure come together for kids ages 5–18! Through activities that spark curiosity and creativity, youth build lifelong skills—whether it’s staying healthy, giving back to their community, or diving into the world of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

Your child’s age on September 1st of the current year will decide which activities they can join.

  • Poultry Club

Poultry Club introduces youth to the fascinating world of raising and caring for chickens, ducks, and other poultry while building responsibility and confidence along the way. Members learn about breeds, nutrition, health, biosecurity, egg production, and proper handling through hands-on activities and guidance from knowledgeable volunteers. Whether they’re raising a backyard flock, preparing birds for shows, or exploring poultry science projects, kids gain practical skills and a deeper appreciation for agriculture. Throughout the year, they connect with friends who share their interests and take pride in their accomplishments both inside and outside the coop.

Meeting Times: Second Tuesday of the month from September – May.

Location: T.L. James Park - 521 Catalpa St, Wewahitchka, FL 32465

  • Teen Volunteers

Teen volunteers can register through 4-H to earn documented volunteer service hours that may be used toward scholarship and award applications. By enrolling as a 4-H member, teens gain access to meaningful community service opportunities while building leadership, responsibility, and workforce skills. All volunteer hours are tracked and verified through the 4-H program, providing official records that support scholarship requirements and recognize youths’ commitment to service and personal growth.

    Age Range: 15-18

    Membership Fees

Florida 4-H membership fees are $20 per child. This fee is for youth ages 8 and older (as of September 1st) and will allow youth to participate in all clubs. Some clubs may have additional fees. Out of the $20 you pay, $10.00 will go directly to Gulf County 4-H program. The other $10.00 will go to the state 4-H Program to help improve, update, and modernize state-level events, activities, and competitions for 4-H youth. This money will also help cover the costs of things previously covered by counties such as insurance and transporting youth to regional and state events.

Cloverbuds (youth 4-H ages 5-7) and adults are NOT charged a state fee. Please do not make any payments for cloverbuds or adults at the community club membership fee payment site.

We believe every child deserves to pursue their passions and talents, regardless of their financial situation. Financial assistance is available by contacting Gulf County 4-H at (850) 639-3200.
