Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be an active Indian River County 4-H member and a graduating senior at the time of application.
  • Can be applied to any qualified higher education. This scholarship award is also available as an award to assist and/or aid in post high school educational expenses.
  • Preference will be given to members who have distinguished themselves scholastically, shown leadership potential as exhibited by their academic record, and who have exhibited achievement and/or leadership abilities within 4-H.

Decision Process:

Upon submission of scholarship applications, the Indian River County 4-H Foundation Award Committee will review your application and decide to whom they will extend interviews. Interviews will take place at the Indian River County Administration building during the week of TBD. Seniors selected for interviews will be informed via email on TBD.  After careful deliberation, the interview team will select the appropriate winner of the scholarship based on the cumulative score garnered from the application and the interview.

The scores will be based on individual panel member's judgement and interpretation of the application, interview, questions and all material submitted.  In order to equally access the value of each panel member, rankings will be provided to the scores.  Upon accumulation of each panel member rankings, the candidate who achieved the best rankings is determined to receive the award.  If applicable, the candidate with the most top rankings breaks any tie.

This year we are awarding $1500.00 first place, $1000.00 second place, and $750.00 third place.

All interview finalists are invited to attend our 4-H Foundation Casino Night Fundraiser on Saturday, October 11, 2025 free of charge, with one parent/guardian.  Additional guests subject to admission rate.  At the 4-H Foundation Casino Night Fundraiser we will be recognizing and celebrating those 4-H seniors who made it to the finalist interview.

**DEADLINE TO SUBMIT APPLICATION IS April 1, 2026**
