About FNP

The Family Nutrition Program (FNP) offers both one-time and series-based nutrition education classes to SNAP-eligible children and teenagers in Leon County. Our programs teach young individuals how to shop for meals on a budget by comparing products for cost and nutrition, choosing more fruits and vegetables, and making healthier choices for their families.

Our mission is to assist limited-resource families in Florida in accessing more nutritious food choices on a budget, adopting healthier eating and physical activity habits to reduce the risk of obesity and chronic diseases, and enhancing nutrition knowledge, cooking skills, food safety practices, and food resource management skills among individuals at risk of hunger, enabling them to better provide for themselves and their families.

With the support of our community partners, we deliver evidence-based curricula and tools specifically designed for limited-resource audiences to encourage and maintain recommended healthy eating and physical activity behaviors.
