4-H Youth Development

. . . . .

In 4-H, we believe in the power of young people. We see that every child has valuable strengths and real influence to improve the world around us. We are America's largest youth development organization, empowering nearly six million young people across the U.S. with the skills to lead for a lifetime. Through hands-on experiential learning opportunities with supportive adult relationships, 4-H focuses on teaching youth citizenship, leadership, and life skills. As part of UF/IFAS Extension, 4-H is open to all youth ages 5-18 regardless of race, creed, color, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, or national origin.

The 4HOnline Enrollment System is used to keep track of all youth and volunteers that are involved with the 4-H program. Look below to figure out what you and/or your youth want to get involved in, then come back to this page to get enrolled!

Developing all youth to reach their fullest potential through life skill development, project work, and school enrichment with hands on experiential learning opportunities.

Community clubs are the foundation of 4-H. A 4-H club is a group of five or more youth guided by adult volunteers with a planned program ongoing throughout the year. Check out this page to find out more about the Suwannee County 4-H club program.

Suwannee County 4-H camping opportunities provide great summer experiences for your youth. These experiences include residential camping, day camps, and state-level sponsored teen programs. This page will share information about the upcoming summer schedule, prices, and registration process.

A 4-H Special Interest (SPIN) club is where five or more youth learn about a topic of interest, known as a 4-H project. Topics can include interests such as gardening, rocketry, cooking, photography, and much more. These clubs are led by volunteers who have a passion and want to share their knowledge and skills with youth. Check out this page to find out what SPIN clubs are currently available in Suwannee County and how to start your own!

Suwannee County 4-H relies on dedicated volunteers to promote and carry out its mission to guide youth towards gaining the knowledge and life skills they need to be productive, responsible citizens. Your time as a volunteer will provide these youth the safe environment they need to pursue whatever interests, causes, and leadership roles that are most important to them.

4-H offers several programs to teachers which supplement what is being taught in the classroom. These programs are open to public schools, private/religious schools, and home school co-ops. Check out this page to see how 4-H can bring hands-on experiential learning opportunities to your school youth!
