Our mission is to link education with life experience to help people improve their lives, their families, and communities. UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Family & Consumer Sciences brings you workshops, educational series, newsletters, media articles, volunteer training programs, exhibits, demonstrations, publications and office consultations. Volunteer support for these programs is provided by Master Food & Nutrition Educators. Family & Consumer Sciences programs are scheduled at the request of groups and can be designed to target specific information for the audience.

Healthy foods, food safety and proper nutrition, mental health, getting the right care, exercise and preventing and managing disease are just a few of the health-related topics addressed here. The importance of shopping local and supporting local agriculture/farmers/farmers markets and preparing Florida agricultural products.
