Junior Master Gardeners

The Junior Master Gardener program engages children in “hands-on” group and individual learning experiences that provide a love of gardening, develop an appreciation for the environment, and cultivate the mind. Junior Master Gardener groups take place in schools and are taught by Master Gardeners volunteers. Contact Kate O’Brien at: KOBrien@coj.net for more details about this program.

Embryology: School Enrichment Program

Students hatch chicks in the classroom and witness the exciting miracle of life. Students take the responsibilities of caring for the fertilized eggs and hatched chicks. Following each session, the hatched birds are given to back to local farmers for them to raise into laying hens.If you are a teacher or school interested in participating in this program contact the 4-H office.

4-H In-School and After-School Clubs

These clubs follow the traditional club approach with elected youth officers, a formal meeting, and educational activities. We offer school based clubs in any 4-H project area. If you are a teacher or school interested in starting a school based club or would like to more information in this area contact the 4-H Office.
