Home Landscapes and Vegetable Gardening
Soil Testing
Soil testing is the most effective way to determine the nutrient status and pH of the soil in a home landscape or vegetable garden. This should be the first step in landscaping and gardening to ensure you are providing the appropriate amounts of minerals for what you are trying to grow. Contact your local Extension Agent to find out more information about soil testing, or visit edis.ifas.ufl.edu.
Irrigation
Proper irrigation is key to growing a healthy landscape or garden. Too much or too little water can cause an extreme effect on your plants. Contact your local Extension Agent for information and to see what will work best for your landscape or garden.
Vegetable Gardening
It is very important to have a plan before vegetable gardening. Knowing where you will plant, what you will plant, and when is the optimal time to plant are key to a successful garden and landscape. Contact your local Extension Agent to find out more information about Vegetable Gardening, or visit edis.ifas.ufl.edu to find informative publications.
