Welcome to Marion County 4-H, we are excited you're here! The UF/IFAS Extension 4-H Youth Development Program uses a learn-by-doing approach to help youth gain the knowledge and skills they need to be responsible, productive citizens. Youth can participate in 4-H through community clubs, councils, day camps, school enrichment, judging teams, events and activities, and more! In Marion County, youth exhibit their projects each year at the Southeastern Youth Fair in February. This mission is accomplished by creating safe and inclusive learning environments, involving caring adults, and utilizing the expertise and resources of the University of Florida and the nationwide land-grant university system. 4-H Youth Membership and Project Areas
4-H has three major project areas: S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), Healthy Living and Citizenship/Leadership. Under these heading are hundreds of project topics for 4-H member involvement. 4-H works with University faculty to develop research-based educational curriculum that is both age-appropriate and useful for club or classroom delivery.
4-H Volunteers
Marion County 4-H relies on dedicated volunteers to promote its mission to help youth gain the knowledge and life skills they need to be productive, responsible citizens. Your time as a 4-H volunteer will provide youth a safe environment to pursue their interests and leadership roles most important to them.
