Beekeeping: Is It For Me? Presentation

Free introductory class

Find out if beekeeping is right for you as a hobby or business. We will cover essential considerations for potential beekeepers: startup costs, legal aspects, space needs, physical requirements, risks, equipment needed, and time requirements for hive maintenance.

Intro to Beekeeping Seminar

This workshop will give you the knowledge to get started with your beekeeping hobby or business. You will learn about: components of a hive, how a bee colony lives, how to use beekeeping tools and gear, how to acquire and manage your own bee colonies. This workshop includes a “Bee-sentials book”, beekeeping veil, Florida Beekeeper. Registration, and lunch. (No live bees used in this workshop- participants may attend future hands-on field days in the Teaching Apiary at no cost).

Kissimmee Valley Beekeeper's Association

All people interested in beekeeping are welcome to attend. Meetings held on the third Tuesday of every month at 6:30 pm at Extension Services, in Osceola Heritage Park: 1921 Kissimmee Valley Lane, Kissimmee, FL 34744.
