The Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Extension Program is dedicated to providing science-based information and educational programming throughout the community to empower individuals and families to make informed decisions about their well-being and to be able to make changes to improve their health and quality of life. FCS provides education in the areas of food and nutrition, chronic disease, weight management, disease prevention, food safety, and financial management. Osceola County FCS includes three program areas: Nutrition, Wellness, and Food Systems; Housing and Finance, and the Family Nutrition Program.
Nutrition, Wellness, and Food Systems
The NWFS Program provides individuals and families with the knowledge and skills to improve their health and welll-being throughout the lifespan. Programs range from single presentations to multi-part series', and are open to the community. We strive to provide solutions for your life by providing un-biased and research-based information.
Finance and Housing
The Finance and Housing program assists Osceola County residents in managing personal and family finances. Whether it's finding a new home, handling foreclosure challenges, or learning how to manage a budget successfully, we can help!
UF/IFAS FNP
The Family Nutrition Program (FNP) empowers Floridians with limited resources to take control of their health. We teach people how to eat healthy on a budget and to get physically active in order to reduce the risk of obesity and chronic disease. We offer free nutrition education in schools, child care centers, and in communities. We also work to improve access to healthy foods and change the environment.
