Florida Friendly Landscaping^TM

We encourage all Putnam County residents to follow Florida Friendly Landscaping^TM principles. If you need ideas, we offer free publications to help you choose plants and learn simple landscaping and care methods. You can also visit our new community vegetable garden, where we are beginning to grow food plants and share examples of easy gardening practices.

We offer monthly gardening programs at several locations in Putnam County. These programs cover topics like fruit trees, vegetable gardening, integrated pest management, and common lawn and landscape issues.

We can also help you identify insects, diagnose common plant problems, provide free soil pH testing for local residents, and share information about upcoming workshops.

For our commercial clientele, we offer programs that help you earn and maintain the licenses required for your work. If your job involves applying fertilizer to landscapes, you will need the Green Industries BMP training to receive the Limited Commercial Fertilizer License. This six hour class is offered in person for $30, or you may take it online anytime for $15. We also offer the LCLM pesticide class and CEUs to help professionals keep their pesticide licenses up to date.
