Florida Friendly Landscaping

Residential Horticulture

We encourage all Putnam County residents to apply the principles of a Florida Friendly Landscape. But do you need inspiration? We have a variety of free publications to assist you with Plant Selection, or landscaping Methods and Maintenance . If you are a visual learner, you are welcome to visit our edible gardening and pollinator garden demonstrations at the Putnam County Agricultural Center, or at the Hastings Agricultural Education Center. We can also assist you with identifying insects, diagnosing common plant diseases, free soil pH testing for local residents and information about upcoming workshops.

Commercial Horticulture

For commercial clientele, we offer a variety of programs to assist with getting your certifications and licensing for your professions. If your job required you to apply fertilizer to landscapes, you will need the Green Industries BMP training in order to receive your Limited Commercial Fertilizer License. This 6-hour training program is offered quarterly in person for $25, or you may take it online anytime for $15. Perhaps your interests involve with arboriculture - We can prepare you for the ISA Certified Arborist  exam with our 2-day workshops, or join us for ISA CEUs on National Arbor Day  where we also provide free trees with the help of the local county forester.
