Who We Are

Your UF/IFAS Seminole County Extension is part of a nationwide network of land grant universities providing non-biased, research-based information to America's citizens. In our state, Extension's Land Grant  is the University of Florida/Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS). Seminole County Extension serves as a bridge between the University , UF/IFAS Research and Education Centers and the local community by providing sustainable training for adults and youth.

In 2014, UF/IFAS Extension celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Smith-Lever Act, which established the Cooperative Extension Service. Learn about the history of UF/IFAS Extension and how the Cooperative Extension Service was established.

From learning healthy nutrition skills to growing better tomatoes - helping youth develop leadership skills and self esteem to money management - Seminole County's Extension Service offers a wealth of practical information for the citizens of our county.  Review the Seminole County Extension Service Economic Impact study to see for yourself.
