Who We Are
UF/IFAS Extension in Seminole County is part of a group of land‑grant universities across the country. These universities share research-based, unbiased information with people in their communities. In Florida, this work is led by the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS).
Seminole County Extension connects the university and local community. We work with UF/IFAS Research and Education Centers to provide hands-on training for both adults and youth.
In 2014, UF/IFAS Extension celebrated 100 years of service. This marked the anniversary of the Smith-Lever Act, which created the Cooperative Extension Service. You can learn more about our history and how Extension began.
Seminole County Extension offers helpful, real-life information. We teach healthy eating, gardening, money management, and more. We also help young people build leadership skills and confidence.
To learn more about our impact, you can review the Seminole County Extension Service Economic Impact Study.
