The Home Lawn and Garden program helps you to develop, maintain, and enjoy a Florida-Friendly Landscape. Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ is a cost-efficient method of landscaping that uses nine integrated landscape principles. You not only reduce your maintenance, but minimize the amount of water, fertilizer and pesticides in your landscape, while also protecting Florida's natural resources.

Demonstration Garden

The UF/IFAS Extension Sumter County Demonstration Garden follows Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ practices through five garden areas where you will find edibles, native plants, groundcovers, perennials, annuals, shrubs and trees. The garden is used in educational programming with residents, youth and Master Gardener Volunteers.

Master Gardeners

UF/IFAS Extension Master Gardener Volunteers in Sumter County have completed comprehensive training and continuing education. They provide sound environmental recommendations to residents through many outreach activities. Master Gardener Volunteers work closely with the UF/IFAS Extension program in Sumter County.
