4-H Youth Development

In 4-H, we believe in the power of young people. We see that every child has valuable strengths and real influence to improve the world around us. We are America's largest youth development organization, empowering nearly six million young people across the U.S. with the skills to lead for a lifetime. Through hands-on experiential learning opportunities with supportive adult relationships, 4-H focuses on teaching youth citizenship, leadership, and life skills. As part of UF/IFAS Extension, 4-H is open to boys and girls ages 5-18 regardless of race, creed, color, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, or national origin.

Our 4-H Clubs and Activities

Being in 4-H can be one of the most rewarding activities in childhood. With interests varying from livestock animals, dancing, to computer coding, 4-H develops all youth to reach their fullest potential through life skill development, project work, and school enrichment with hands-on learning opportunities. 4-H VOLUNTEERS

Suwannee County 4-H relies on dedicated volunteers to promote and carry out its mission to guide youth towards gaining the knowledge and life skills they need to be productive, responsible citizens. Your time as a volunteer will provide these youth the safe environment they need to pursue whatever interests, causes, and leadership roles that are most important to them. Click this page to learn more how to become a volunteer, what roles are available, and training and resources to help you make the most of your experience.
