I grew up in Marion County, FL, and I loved participating in 4-H, especially in high school. I completed my bachelor's degree at the University of Florida in Family, Youth, & Community Science (FYCS), I accepted a position as the 4-H Extension Agent in Mathews, Virginia and completed the FYCS Master's program. After four years in Virginia, my husband had the chance to begin his 4-H career as the agent in Suwannee County, so we decided to move back to my roots in Florida for exciting opportunities for both of us in 2017.
After spending 3.5 years as the 4-H Program Coordinator, I am excited to continue working to make the best better in Alachua County in my role as the 4-H Extension Agent!
I have always had a passion for Science, Wildlife, and Conservation. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Organismal Biology with a Concentration in Conservation and Biodiversity from Auburn University. After graduating from college, I moved to Florida to work as an Educator at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. I loved educating guests of all ages about animals and conservation. After moving to Gainesville in 2018 with my wife, I worked for the National Ecological Observatory Network. Because of my love for education and the natural world, I decided to become a Florida Master Naturalist to gain more skills and experience teaching people about the wonders of nature in Florida. I am so excited to be the 4-H Program Coordinator of Alachua County so I can share my passions with kids and help them explore theirs!
