Hi. I am Cindy Sanders, the Alachua County Extension Director and Livestock Agent. Agriculture has always been an important part of my life, as a six generation agricultural family member. I graduated from the University of Florida with a Doctorate Degree in Extension Leadership and Administration, a Master's Degree in Extension Education, and a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science/Agricultural Education.
My work experience in agriculture includes: ranch management, agriculture teacher, feed sales, A.I technician, and supervisor of a meat processing plant.
As the Livestock Extension Agent, I work with producers in Alachua County dealing with cattle, horses, swine, chickens, and goats. I develop and implement educational programs and materials related to livestock production and management. These programs cover all aspects of livestock production including animal nutrition, health, reproduction, and pasture forages. I also work closely with the Alachua County Youth Fair & Livestock Show.
