The Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Program was developed to address serious problems of pollution and disappearing habitats by enlisting homeowners in the battle to save our natural environment. This program provides educational and outreach activities directed at the community to help residents reduce pollution and enhance their environment by improving home and landscape management. Workshops on Florida-Friendly Landscaping™, Composting, Rain Barrels and other related topics are regularly offered by the Charlotte County UF/IFAS Extension Office. Call 941.764.4340 to find out about upcoming programs. You can also obtain useful materials at our office, such as “The Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Handbook”.
