4-H School Based Programming
Duval County 4-H offers school based programming to schools within the Duval County limits. Contact the 4-H office if you are interested in exploring the options and benefits 4-H can bring to your school!
The Junior Master Gardener program engages children in “hands-on” group and individual learning experiences that provide a love of gardening, develop an appreciation for the environment, and cultivate the mind. Students hatch chicks in the classroom and witness the exciting miracle of life. Students take the responsibilities of caring for the fertilized eggs and hatched chicks. Following each session, the hatched birds are given to back to local farmers for them to raise into laying hens.If you are a teacher or school interested in participating in this program contact the 4-H office.
These clubs follow the traditional club approach with elected youth officers, a formal meeting, and educational activities. We offer school based clubs in any 4-H project area.
