Commercial Horticulture/ Sustainable Agriculture
The Commercial Horticulture Program at UF/IFAS Pasco County Extension connects local growers with research-based resources to support environmentally friendly and sustainable horticultural practices. Our goal is to help growers maximize crop quality and yield while preserving the fragile Florida ecosystem.
We specialize in:
- Horticultural guidance for the diversity of specialty crops grown in Pasco like blueberries, kumquats, pomegranates, vegetables, olives, and turfgrass
- Business plan development to help you make informed financial decisions
- Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies to reduce chemical use and improve pest control
- Pesticide licensing and exam preparation to ensure you meet state requirements
Whether you’re looking for advice on crop selection, pest management, or sustainable practices, we’re here to help you grow a thriving, eco-friendly operation.
