Youth Leadership

One of the strongest aspects of 4-H is the use of Youth-Adult Partnerships. In 4-H, youth and adults come together to make decisions and carry out plans. To do this, 4-H offers various levels of youth councils to provide leadership opportunities to youth who are interested in working with adults to plan for the future of 4-H at the county, district, and state levels.

  • Alachua County Teen Leadership Club

Our Teen Leadership Club will meet monthly for 4-H'ers ages 13-18 and will feature three county-wide social events open to 4-H'ers of any age. At each meeting, we will focus on a different leadership topic. Youth are invited to attend as many meetings as they would like throughout the year! This club is a supplement to regular 4-H club membership. Contact msale@ufl.edu for more information.

  • State Executive Board

Three times per year, dozens of senior 4-H'ers from around the state gather together to plan many of the state events offered by Florida 4-H. Between these meetings, individual committees work hard to bring these ideas and concepts to fruition for 4-H'ers all around the state. Additionally, the State Executive Board works closely with the State Officer Team to ensure that Florida 4-H continues to Make the Best Better. Please reach out to Derby Sale, Florida 4-H Citizenship/Leadership Coordinator at sderby.sale@ufl.edu for more information on the Florida 4-H State Executive Board.

  • Florida 4-H State Officer Team

Florida 4-H has a team of state officers who represent all of Florida’s 4-H'ers. Each county can have up to two youth run for a state officer position. These officers lead committees on the State Executive Board, represent Florida 4-H at events, and visit counties to help teach younger members about events at the state level, among many other responsibilities. Please reach out to Derby Sale, Florida 4-H Citizenship/Leadership Coordinator at sderby.sale@ufl.edu for more information on the Florida 4-H State Officer Team.
