
Hillsborough Master Gardener Help Desk
Our staff and Master Gardener Volunteers are here to help homeowners with their yards and gardens. You can call us or visit in person with your questions. We can help with lawn and pest problems, choosing the right plants for your yard or garden, and tips on when and how to water. You can bring insect or plant samples to the Help Desk for identification and advice. We also test soil for pH for a small fee.

Testing Services and Fees:
- Water Test: $10 - Information and fees ; Submission form and instructions
- Plant Disease Test: $20 - Information ; Submission form and instructions
- Turf Disease Test: $75 - Submission form and instructions
- Nematode Test: $12 - Submission form and Instructions
- Plant ID: Fee varies - Submission form and instructions
- Insect ID: $8 - Information ; Submission form and instructions
- Soil Tests:

pH only (at our office): $3 per sample - Soil pH Test Form
- Full soil test (pH, lime, nutrients): $10 per sample - Submission form

Want to Become a Master Gardener?
The Master Gardener Program teaches volunteers about gardening so they can share what they learn with Hillsborough County residents. Volunteers act as an “extension” of the University of Florida.
