How to Become a Jackson County Master Gardener

The Jackson County Master Gardener Program recruits individuals who are interested in gardening and enjoy sharing what they learn with others. Join the many other Jackson County Master Gardener volunteers who provide a valuable service to our community by assisting homeowners with their horticulture questions.

Master Gardener Activities

Certified Jackson County Master Gardeners work through their county Extension office to educate Floridians and provide research-based information about gardening. Jackson County Master Gardeners can fulfill their volunteer hours in a variety of ways, including:

  • Answer homeowner questions over the phone or in person
  • Go on horticulture related yard calls (with the Master Gardener Coordinator)
  • Participating in community and school garden projects
  • Giving educational programs to the public
  • Supporting youth activities, including 4-H
  • Working in or overseeing the Demonstration Beds
  • Community Service Projects

  • Fall Plant Sale
