4-H Youth Development
4‑H empowers young people with the skills to lead for a lifetime by taking a learn-by-doing approach. In Lake County, we reach over 5,500 youth in school and community clubs, in-school and after-school programs, and 4-H camps. Based on interests and guided by adult mentors, 4-H youth actively participate in projects, events, and activities at the county, district, state, and even national levels.
This page provides resources for families wishing to join Lake County 4-H as new members including how to enroll, and resources for current members. The 4-H year runs September 1st of the current year to August 31st of the following year. Open Enrollment for each new year begins around August 1st, however, we take enrollments year-round.
Lake County 4-H is led by volunteers who serve as club leaders, co-leaders, and role models for youth. Find information about the 4-H program, how to become a volunteer, and resources for current volunteers.
