4-H Clubs and Resources
Joining a 4-H club is a great way to be part of 4-H and enjoy a full, ongoing experience.

About 4-H Clubs
Each 4-H club is led by adult volunteer leaders. These leaders are called Level 2 volunteers and must pass a background check following Florida 4-H rules. They also need to sign up every year in 4-H Online and keep their background check updated.
Even though adults help lead, the youth members are the ones who really run the club. Club members choose officers who use Parliamentary Procedure to run meetings. Each 4-H club meeting has three parts: business, learning, and fun.
-
In the business part, members talk about upcoming events, vote on community service or fundraising projects, and discuss other club topics.
-
The learning part might be a member showing others how to do something from their project. For example, one member might teach how to clean a horse’s saddle or how to measure ingredients for cooking.
-
The fun part is a game or activity that gets everyone involved and having a good time.
When picking a 4-H club to join, use our Directory to find out when and where clubs meet and what projects they focus on. Remember, club members can work on any project they want, even if it’s not listed. You can also talk to several club leaders or visit different clubs before deciding which one is best for you.
