Frequently Asked Questions
4-H Volunteer Background Screening
Q. I am already security screened with the school board. Must I go through that processes again with 4-H?
A. Yes, but we try to make it as streamlined as possible, and we will cover the screening fees. This is a policy of the FL Dept. of Children and Families we must comply with.
Programs, Clubs, Classes and Events
Q. My child is in a 4-H Club, but we recently heard of a fishing class and a S.T.E.M. Spin Club? May he participate in those as well? By the way, what exactly is a Spin Club?
A. Of course! 4-H tries to provide a variety of PYD (Positive Youth Development) activities in a variety of formats, serving the youth of Brevard. Youth may participate in as many of these clubs and programs as they would like. A Spin Club is typically a short term, SPecial Interest club with a focus on one topic, such as drones, marine science, or geocaching.
