Micro-Irrigation

Many Florida homeowners water their plants more than needed. Over-watering wastes water, costs more, and can make plants weaker and more likely to get pests or diseases. Micro-irrigation (also called drip irrigation) saves water by delivering it directly to the plant’s roots.

About the Program

The Micro-Irrigation Program is supported by Hillsborough County Water Resources and the City of Tampa Water Department. It teaches residents how to save water while keeping landscapes healthy.

The Micro-Irrigation Workshops cover:

  • Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ tips
  • How to save water
  • How to install and use micro-irrigation systems

Workshops are for Hillsborough County residents. Each household can get a starter kit for $10. Pre-registration is required.

See our Calendar of Events to find a class near you.
