Rain Barrels/Rainwater Harvesting

Each year Florida receives about 52 inches of rain. Much of that rain runs off our roofs and our driveways, lawns and into stormwater drains. As it flows, it can transport fertilizers, other chemicals and grass clippings. These can end up in our lakes, rivers, and streams, causing pollution.

Rain barrels are a smart and easy way to collect rainwater. Using a rain barrel helps stop water from running off your yard and provides water to use on your plants (not edibles).

Check our calendar to sign up online.

You will also learn how to create your own rain barrel.

Important: You must attend this workshop and complete a survey before you can receive a barrel. Check our website for specific details.
