Nutrition, Child Development, and Family Nutrition Program

Preparing healthy food for our families and keeping food safe is the basis for all food and nutrition programs. Eating right can prevent chronic disease, can stop the progression of disease and help overall well-being. People can learn to keep food safe through basic consumer programs, Safe Staff™ or ServSafe™ certification. Extension serves as the expert in food preservation and assists with decreasing food waste.

Home, Energy, and Money Management

Maintaining a stable healthy home environment and gaining financial confidence and independence are important to our overall good health and well-being. Our research based educational programs can help you find resources and learn how to achieve these goals. We are here to help with the important elements of home ownership and money management.

Healthy Lifestyles

Physical Inactivity can lead to many health problems such as obesity which is known to cause many chronic diseases. Extension educational programs are designed to motivate and support healthy lifestyles among residents, on the importance of increasing physical activity to lower short and long term health risks, and to improve our personal health and well being by eating right and keeping food safe.
