Sarasota County 4-H Club Listing

4-H is a community-based educational program delivered through UF/IFAS Extension. Our programs are open to all youth ages 5 through 18, and provide hands-on opportunities and experiences for youth to engage in their communities in a positive, “learn-by-doing” environment. 4-H clubs accept members ages 8 through 18 (as of Sept. 1, for current 4-H year). Some clubs work with Cloverbud members (ages 5 through 7, as of Sept. 1) and are marked as "Cloverbuds accepted" programs.

4-H Livestock Club
Cloverbuds accepted. This club focuses on the development of experiential learning and leadership skills through a variety of projects and opportunities. These projects include: caring for and handling both large and small animals; learning and engaging in various crafts; participating in plant projects; and opportunities to engage in community service activities. Club meets 6:30-8 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month, at Bee Ridge Presbyterian Church. 4-Paws
This club focuses on the development of leadership skills through teaching proper care and training of your canine (mix or pedigree), including participation in showmanship, obedience, rally and agility. Youth also participate in arts-and-crafts projects, plant projects and community service. Must provide your own dog. Club meets 4-5 p.m. each Sunday. Action Clovers 2.0
Cloverbuds accepted. This club focuses on a hands-on, learn-by-doing approach to leadership, community service and achievement skills through growing plants, arts and crafts, sewing and small animals. All Star Lucky Clovers
This club focuses on youth in middle school who are interested in STEM and leadership opportunities. Club meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of August through May, at the Sarasota Housing Authority. Youth must live in community.
Backwoods Life of South County
Cloverbuds accepted. This club focuses on the development of leadership skills through the care and showing of large and small animals, plants, arts and crafts, and community service projects. We are a general club welcoming all projects, and will focus on learning demonstrations, public speaking, and livestock judging this year. Booker Middle School 4-H Club
This afterschool club focuses on the development of STEM skills through science activities and experiments. Members take a hands-on approach with science. Club meets during afterschool Boys and Girls program, Mondays through Thursdays when school is in session, at Booker Middle School. Youth must be enrolled in Booker Middle School and the afterschool program.
Clogging Clovers
Cloverbuds accepted. This club focuses on the development of leadership skills through "clogging," which members perform at various community events. Members also are very involved in community service projects, arts and crafts, and demonstrations and illustrated talks. Community 4-H Club
Cloverbuds accepted. This club has a focus on plant life and the natural environment. Head, heart, hands, and health are the 4 H’s in 4-H, and they are the 4 values members work on through fun and engaging programs. Students will have the opportunity to grow their own plants, participate in displays and contests at the county fair if they choose. They will also have the opportunity to care for our school chickens as a project and show them at the fair. The opportunities in 4-H are varied and are determined by the interests of each individual student. Youth must be enrolled in Community Day School. The club meets on Thursdays. Crazy About Caprines
Cloverbuds accepted. This club focuses on the development of leadership and practical skills through the exploration of nature, art, ecology, and sustainability ,as well as the care and responsibility of animal ownership through the interaction with dairy goats. Club meetings are on select Saturdays or Sundays, at the Lemon Bay Park and Environmental Center in Englewood or the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park in North Port. Foxmill Kids & Colts
Cloverbuds accepted. This club focuses on the development of leadership skills through the care and handling of horses, dairy goats, poultry, and rabbit projects. Heron Creek MS 4-H Club
This afterschool club focuses on the development of STEM skills through science activities and experiments. Members take a hands-on approach with science. Club meets after school. Youth must be enrolled in Heron Creek Middle School and the afterschool program.
Junior Cattlemen 4-H Club
Cloverbuds accepted. This club focuses on the development of leadership skills through education, community service, friendship, large- and small-animal fair-related projects, cattle workshops, and "Robert's Rules of Order." Club meets 6:30-8 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month, at the UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County office. Legacy Clovers
Cloverbuds accepted. This club focuses on developing leadership skills through community service projects andp ublic speaking/demonstrations, all while learning about various projects of interest for each member with an emphasis on agriculture as a whole subject. This is a general-interest club open to all projects, from small/large animals to plants and/or crafts. The club will have activities that include workshops, clinics and field trips, to help members learn about their current projects and potential future projects. Miakka Allstock

Roots and Wings
Cloverbuds accepted. This club focuses on community outreach and familiarizing the youth with how 4-H works.
